Hi, I am Calley Middlebrooks the Founder and President of South Walton Academy, Developmental Therapist, as well as a wife, and mother of 3.
I have worked as a Developmental Therapist since 2003. My background is in Developmental Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Speech and Communication, and I have taken many additional educational courses including those that specialize in Autism, Child Development, ABA, OT, Nutrition, and PT. While I have many years of experience working with children with developmental delays, I have also gained knowledge from being a mother. One of my three children has Autism, and it has been through him that I have learned additional challenges that not only he faces but the challenges parents face as well. With the experience of working with the special needs population I have also gained experience working with gifted students. While the accommodations may be different the need for a unique learning environment the similar.
I understand that all children have different needs and abilities and that learning should be hands on, and fun. I believe that children learn from each other and all children have strengths and weakness, and we can build on both when we all work together. When creating South Walton Academy I wanted to ensure educational needs were being met, students were being challenged based on their individual needs, and provide more than just a school, a place to build success and confidence.

Hello, I am Jennifer Filippone a Director and Office Manager at South Walton Academy. I am also a wife and mother of 2.

I have worked as an office administrator for over 10 years and in my spare time I enjoy photography. I have been with SWA since it's inception but took on an Administrative role in 2017. As a parent to a child with Autism, I saw an opportunity to help other parents and children with special needs in our community. I believe all children have the right to learn, and I am so excited to watch our school grow.

I moved to the panhandle 10 years ago and met my husband here. I love to travel and enjoy bringing my girls back home to Maine every summer.
